Breck is pleased to announce that this year’s Athena Award winner is senior Saylor Hawkins. Saylor has been a three-sport athlete each year since she was in seventh grade and this year she is playing four sports.

Saylor is a lifer at Breck and as soon as she entered seventh grade, she started her Breck athletic career in girls swim & dive, gymnastics and Middle School track & field. Saylor has won a total of fourteen varsity letters, three All Conference awards and was nominated for the Allen Dunn Trophy in 2016 and 2017 as the top freshman/sophomore/junior athlete. Saylor won the Section 2A Dive Meet three years in a row (2016, 2017 and 2018) and the MSHSL State Dive Meet in 2016 and 2017. Saylor also competed in the State Gymnastics Meet five years out of six. She placed first at the section track & field meet in triple jump and last year she was part of the 4x100m relay team that took first place at the section and state meets. This winter, Saylor participated on the girls basketball team along with the gymnastics team.

Saylor has been a captain for gymnastics and girls swim & dive as a junior and, as a senior, she will be a three-sport captain by adding track & field to the list. Saylor was also IMAC Athlete of the Month for November 2017. Saylor was also nominated by her peers as the Homecoming Queen this fall.

Saylor will attend and dive at the University of North Texas next year.
